sorry you didn't get more finality in this crazy situation. Nothing seems to happen like we think, or at least hope, when foster care is involved.. and certainly not WHEN we think it should. Hang in there. :)
Not surprised. Seems like there is always another 3 mos. Poor babies in the system. I guess the state has forgotten their own policy to resolve cases within 12 mos.
Are you aware that at the age of 3 a child is considered hard to place and so the child receives a monthly adoption subsidy through their 18th yr. Does not make dragging things out any better on the kids.
I agree with Carol...not surprised, but I am still disappointed for Lizzy. Praying for the comfort only God can bring in these situations. Peace, comfort, and patience!
Sorry, should have commented earlier, that had I been thinking I could have told you that it would have been highly unlikely for the court to have terminated parental rights in this hearing. I can't say for sure not having seen the court papers, but I would think that this hearing was probably listed as a review hearing. Just guessing, the next hearing would be labeled a permanency planning hearing.
No matter what final goal was decided on in the meeting that was recently held, the outcome of this hearing would be the same--continue with current visitation schedule etc (unless the court deemed the parent so unfit that they should not even have supervised visits). So the case would continue to look like reunification was the goal.
It is standardly 3 mos between hearings.
Of course, I am only sharing the usual course and nothing about the system is usual.

ayyy. just thinking of y'all today....believing that the Lord has a plan that is BIGGER and BETTER than what it might seem like right now.
hang in there!
What a system. I was hoping for you and the little one that some decisions would be made! Blessings.
Ugh! Keep hanging in there! That pretty much sums up all our court proceedings too...
You've got to be exhausted.
